My 2019 Golden Globes Recap: The Good & The Bad
The 76th Golden Globe Awards were last night and I am feeling all the feels because this officially marks the 1 year anniversary of Vic’s Red Carpet!!!!! Its been an amazing year full of pop culture moments and I am so happy I get to share it with you guys!!!! <3
Sooooo, here is my Golden Globes recap:
Sandra Oh & Andy Samberg are the comedy duo we didn’t know we needed. They were so funny, energetic, and looked so good! Petition to host every year??? YES!
Rami Malek taking home the Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama
Rami Malek gave the performance of the year!!! His portrayal of Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody was out of this world!!! Incredibly showstopping…no one deserved this more than him.
“Shallow” winning Best Original Song
You guys know my love for A Star is Born…I CAN’T GET ENOUGH!!! “Shallow” is one of the most beautiful songs ever written and produced for a musical, so it was an obvious choice for this award. Unfortunately, A Star is Born got HEAVILY SNUBBED at the Globes this year, but we’ll get into that later….
The Assasination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story winning literally everything
I am obsessed with all things Versace. I love the history, the fashion (duh), and this series!!! In fact, I recently got the opportunity to visit the Versace Mansion and it was insane (blog post coming soon). Ryan Murphy is the king of TV and this series proves just that. The cast was phenomenal and everything was soooo well done. Unfortunately, Penelope Cruz lost for the portrayal of Donatella, but I am so happy that Darren Criss took home the Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television!!!!!
Crazy Rich Asians getting snubbed :((((
Crazy Rich Asians was the most beautiful and vibrant film of 2018. They lost both awards they were nominated for (Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy & Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy) and deserved soooo much more respect. When will these award shows get it together????
Bradley Cooper & Lady Gaga losing in their respective categories
Bradley Cooper & Lady Gaga were nominated for Best Director and Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama, respectively. I AM SOOOOO UPSET ABOUT THIS. Bradley Cooper was the obvious choice for Best Director. He made a literal perfect film and got no respect for it. Lady Gaga was also the most obvious choice. UGH! I’m just gonna pray and wait for the Oscars…
Cheers to the stressful, yet beautiful time that is awards season!!!!
